I begged my mum to let me get Mac when I still lived at home, my freind had 2 6mnth old kittens. His mum was Penny, sister Gismo & later we discovered that my mum's neighbour's cat Marco was his dad. The sweetest most loving little cat who loved giving cuddles & knew what the word meant. So clever & yet so absolutely stupid at the time (closing his eyes like a toddler would, sneaking up to your dinner plate, thinking you couldn't see him as he couldn't see you.. really!!!) Followed me everywhere, I had to run away in the morning so I could go to work and he got jealous when I was looking after my dad's dog and insisted on following behind when I was walking Sandy. Slept contentedly every night in his favourite place, with his head on my left shoulder and would be inches away from my face in the morning mentally willing me to wake up. He would open doors to get into whatever room he wanted to be in and would sit on the coner of the bath 'till we came in and turned on the tap so he could have a drink. His best friend was a wee cat called Anna who had lost her sister. Sadly he had been born with a heart defect that hadn't been detected and he died a cruel and horrible death at 10yrs when his wee lungs filled up with fluid when his old dicky ticker caught up with him. R.I.P my wee boy I know you're waiting for meX

Beyond the Rainbow

As much as I loved the life we had and all the times we played,
I was so very tired and knew my time on earth would fade.
I saw a wondrous image then of a place that's trouble-free
Where all of us can meet again to spend eternity.

I saw the most beautiful Rainbow, and on the other side
Were meadows rich and beautiful -- lush and green and wide!
And running through the meadows as far as the eye could see
Were animals of every sort as healthy as could be!
My own tired, failing body was fresh and healed and new
And I wanted to go run with them, but I had something left to do.

I needed to reach out to you, to tell you I'm alright
That this place is truly wonderful, then a bright Glow pierced the night.
'Twas the Glow of many Candles shining bright and strong and bold
And I knew then that it held your love in its brilliant shades of gold.

For although we may not be together in the way we used to be,
We are still connected by a cord no eye can see.
So whenever you need to find me, we're never far apart
If you look beyond the Rainbow and listen with your heart.

For Mac,xxx.

God saw you were getting tired and a cure was not to be.
So He put his arms around you and whispered, "Come to Me."
With tearful eyes we watched you, and saw you pass away. Although we loved you dearly, we could not make you stay.
A golden heart stopped beating, hard working paws to rest.
God broke our hearts to prove to us;
He Only Takes The Best
